For 'Rise' as lead matte-painting artist, I was involved in the creation of the Beast Home Planet. initially starting with some rapid environment prototyping in Houdini and Clarisse to get sign-off from the client, we explored some very alien landscapes and skies before landing on a dense, Jungle-like planet with underlying veins of Energon.
The opening sequence ends with the destruction of the planet where I was tasked with lighting, lookdev and rendering with the FX caches being provided from the FX department.
